A simple keyless solution or a massive platform?

With the increasing popularity of co-working spaces and communities, I was given the important responsibility of exploring the initial steps in Castellum's future digital experience.

Castellum

Background

In this exploratory project, we aimed to future-proof Castellum's properties. The primary objective was to develop an MVP product to evaluate the feasibility of using phones instead of keycards for accessing facilities, Additionally, to explore both the user and business value of building a larger platform with more services.

Challenges

  • What other functionalities besides the keycard feature can provide sufficient user value for retention?

  • How will the Covid lockdown affect the business and user needs?

  • How can we address technical issues, such as users without smartphones?

My role

For this assignment, I was the only designer, leading both UX and UI. I particularly enjoy the exploration phase for the freedom it offers and the learning opportunities. I had a diverse range of tasks for this project including field research, competitor analysis, workshops, concept development, wireframing, prototyping, animation, UI design, and more.
